Food and Drink
For a village of its size, Lønstrup has a surprisingly good choice of places to eat – from a Michelin-listed restaurant on the cliff edge to small cafés with homemade cake, a bakery, an ice cream shop and a grocery store with a well-stocked wine section.
Most kitchens work with local produce from North Jutland: fish landed nearby, meat and vegetables from the surrounding farms. Opening hours vary a lot with the season, so it is worth checking before you go – especially outside the summer months.
Restaurants
Lønstrup's best known restaurant sits right on the coastal slope, serving a set menu built around Nordic ingredients, with the sea in view from most tables. Booking ahead is strongly recommended in summer. Alongside it you will find more relaxed places serving fish, burgers, pizza and classic Danish lunch dishes.
Cafés and bakery
Several cafés in the village serve coffee, cake and light lunches, often with outdoor seating when the weather allows. The bakery opens early and is a good first stop of the day; in high season there is usually a queue by mid-morning.
Groceries and takeaway
The village grocery store covers everyday shopping, holiday-home supplies and a good selection of Danish and international wine. Several places offer takeaway – handy if you are staying in a holiday home and want an easy evening.
Opening hours
