Events

There is more going on in Lønstrup than the size of the village suggests – especially in summer. Live music in the cafés, changing exhibitions in the galleries, markets and guided tours around the lighthouse are all part of the season.

The complete, up-to-date calendar is kept on the Danish seasonal pages. Dates, times and venues are easy to read even if you don't speak Danish.

Summer (June–August)

The busiest period. Several cafés and restaurants host live concerts, often outdoors when the weather cooperates. Galleries extend their opening hours and show changing exhibitions, and there are special tours and experiences around Rubjerg Knude.

Autumn and winter

Autumn is when the west coast is at its most dramatic – storms, heavy surf and remarkable light. Events move indoors: talks, concerts and readings in halls and churches, followed by Christmas markets in December.

Spring

The galleries wake up again and the first outdoor tables reappear. Easter traditionally marks the start of the season for many shops and restaurants.

Recurring highlights

Some things happen every year: shared dinners at the local food house, beach yoga in summer, café concerts and special exhibitions in the galleries. The seasonal pages always hold the current programme.
