Accommodation

Most visitors to Lønstrup stay in a holiday home. There are hundreds in the area, from simple cottages in the dunes to large houses with pool and sauna, and several local agencies handle the bookings.

If you prefer something smaller or shorter, the village also has a hotel, motel rooms, bed and breakfast options and campsites within walking or cycling distance of the beach.

Holiday homes

Holiday homes are usually rented by the week in high season, with shorter stays available in spring and autumn. Local agencies know the houses personally and can help with practical questions – pets, wheelchair access, distance to the beach and so on.

Hotel and rooms

The village hotel sits close to the beach and also serves food, which makes it a practical base for a short stay. A few smaller providers rent out motel-style rooms and apartments year round.

Camping

There are campsites both in Lønstrup and in the surrounding countryside, with pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, plus cabins. One of them has been named Denmark's best small campsite. Booking ahead is wise in July.

When to come

July and early August are busy and lively. May, June and September are quieter, cheaper and often just as pleasant – the light on the coast in September is hard to beat. Winter is calm, stormy and beautiful, but many places are closed.
